Destiny awaits.

I turned 26 a little over an hour ago.:)

This afternoon, my Mom texted me:

Mama: WAT TYM KA UWI SURPRISE!
Dada: (Bewildered) Anong surprise?
Mama: Di na surprise kung sinabi ko sayo.
Dada: (Onga naman.) Pera ba yan? Hehe.
Mama: Hindi. Favorite mo.
Dada: Manok ba yan?
Mama: Hindi.
Dada: Sushi. :)
Mama: Hindi. Ano ba ubos na load ko.
Mama: Ok. Before dinner po ako uuwi bukas.
Mama: Ok.

Ano kaya ang surprise ng Mama ko? :)

Last night, I received rather interesting text message from my sister.

Ritz: Q: Ang mushrooms ba gulay? O rootcrop?
Dada: Fungi.
Ritz: So hindi sila gulay?
Dada: Strictly speaking, hindi sila halaman.
Ritz: Ah ok. Nagorder kasi ako ng beef with broccoli. May mushrooms. Naisip ko lang bigla kung gulay sila.
Dada: Ah ok.

Natawa ako dun.:p

Somebody stole my phone and my wallet earlier today at UERM's Out-Patient Clinic. Yup, while I was busy interviewing patients, some criminal disguised as some patient's companion cleverly took my ever-reliable Motorola c651 and the wallet Ba gave me last Christmas, which had Php. 100++ inside, from the pocket of my blazer, which was conveniently placed on a chair, while inside the Consultation Room with the Resident on Duty present. I had to call Globe to have my sim blocked, plus, I have to spend a few hundreds to get a replacement.

Jeezas. I've lost 3 phones already, and 2 of those 3 phones were stolen. Parang ang malas ko yata a.

Anyways, a few hours later, I was at the ICU with Meinard.

Dada: Ma, hindi ka ba naawa sa akin?
Meinard: Hindi.
Dada: Nakakaawa naman yung nangyari sa akin, diba?
Meinard: E, nakangiti ka pa rin dyan e. Ako nga, lumang t-shirt lang ang nawala, lungkot na lungkot na. Ikaw pa kaya, e cellphone at wallet ang nakuha sa'yo.
Dada: E pag nawawalan kasi ako ng gamit, iniisip ko na tulong ko na yun sa kanila.
Meinard: E hindi dapat ganun mag-isip..
Dada: Pero, diba kawawa naman ako? *Shows the kawawa look.*
Meinard: *Smiles.*

In the end, he lent me transpo money so I can go home.:p

Today, I am one grateful human being.

Today, I end the first chapter of my so-called medical career, and begin anew.

Today, I give back to my family all the love and support they have given me the past four years. After all, if it weren't for them, none of these would be possible.

Today, I celebrate the kindness of the Good Lord for giving me more than what I asked for in this life.

Two things that made yesterday a happy day.

One, I got myself a dress to wear for graduation.

My Mom and I went shopping for a graduation dress. I already tried on two dresses from a previous trip to MegaMall, so the task at hand was just to let my mom decide which dress to buy. After all, she was the one with the cash. I ended up buying a satin, empire-cut, spaghetti-strapped, knee-length dress, with a balloon skirt, in deep purple.:)

Then, we went to Greenhills, so Mama can shop for something to wear for my graduation. After going through all the stalls in the tiangge and a hearty snack at Brother's Burger, she ended up buying a pair of beige drawstring pants, which she tried on twice, to match the white polo my aunt gave her.

And two, (Ju)Menchi came home from Pangasinan today.

After another 4 days of not seeing the most-adorable-non-fourteen-year-old-boytoy, he went to the house to have dinner with me and my folks. Then, we went out to get dessert and coffee.

But then, we had to cut our evening short because he still had to get some sleep. He will be picking up his aunt from the airport, at around 4 this morning, and off he goes, back home(once again), to the Land of the Milkfish. In the meantime, I have 3 whole days to spend on errands, a visit to the dentist, etcetera, etcetera.
